Stephen "Steve" Richard Thompson, age 76

Stephen "Steve" Richard Thompson, age 76, of Ellenboro, passed away Monday, September 2, 2019.

He was born in New Jersey to the late Roland and Anna Hoernlen Thompson.

Those who knew Steve knew of his talent as a stonemason, his love of gardening and country music and his sense of humor. One of his favorite things to do was to sit at his picnic or kitchen table where his friends were always welcome. Steve also served in the United States Navy.

Steve is survived by three siblings: John Thompson and wife Carol of Port Murray, NJ; Linda Apgar and husband Dan of NJ; and Bruce Thompson and wife Lisa of Benton, AR; four children: Kelly Long and husband Jim of Mechanicsburg, PA; Leisa Wilson and husband Brian of Cary, NC; Steve Thompson and girlfriend Carrie Thomas of Franklinton, NC; and Beth Thompson and husband Terry Morris of Fuquay-Varina, NC; his seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and their children.

Private Services will be held at a later date.

Robert Morgan Funeral and Cremation Service is serving the family.
