Steve "Bama" McGinnis, age 59

Steve "Bama" McGinnis, age 59, of Forest City, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2016.

Born June 7, 1956 in Rutherford County, he was a son to the late Jesse James McGinnis and Emma Jane Bradley McGinnis. He owned and operated Steve's Roofing Company for most of his life. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed golfing and shooting pool.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, April McGinnis and five brothers, Jimmy, Bobby, Leroy, Ronnie and Mike McGinnis.

Survivors include his daughter, Windy Owens and husband, Richard of Mooresboro; son, Brock McGinnis of Forest City; sister, Barbara Brackett of Forest City; brother, Ervin McGinnis and wife, Libby of Mooresboro; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sister-in-laws, Sheryl McGinnis and Pat McGinnis both of Forest City and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Home with Reverend Steven Cooper officiating.

In lieu of flowers, are suggested to Windy Owens, 780 Old Mooresboro Road, Mooresboro, NC 28114 to help defray funeral costs or to Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043
