Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy's class of 2017 took part in the annual SeniorVolunteer Day on Wednesday. In an effort to engage with the larger community, the students chose different organizations and volunteered several hours of their time in various capacities.
Michael Fair, the 12th grade Government and Economics teacher, led a group of twelve students to a Habitat for Humanity building site in Spindale. The students installed laminate flooring in several rooms and painted a significant amount of trim and molding in two separate home sites. This was their second year working with Habitat for Humanity and the students and Mr. Fair say they look forward to continuing their relationship with the Habitat team in the future.
Participating students at Habitat were: Kosta Lee Habridge, Nick Longerbeam, Emily Alred, Erin Tevis, Clayton Alexander, Hayden Alexander, Abbery Friday, Peter Oliphant, Clay Fowler, Paris Lane, Ali Huston and Alex Harrelson.
