Susan Malane Kranich, age 60

Susan Malane Kranich, age 60, of Lawndale, NC passed away Monday, February 1, 2016.

Born September 17, 1955 in Selma, Alabama, she was a daughter to the late Robert Leonard Smith and Dorothy Guffey Smith. Susan was a graduate of East Rutherford High School, class of 1973 and worked for American Greetings Industries in the personnel department and for Wal-Mart as a customer service manager. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and enjoyed her pets. Susan was a loving, caring and giving person and will be missed greatly by her family.

Survivors include her son, Stephen Silver of Lawndale; one grandson also of Lawndale; brother, Wayne Smith and wife, Rhonda of Forest City; two sisters, Keeley Laws of Caroleen and Cammy Reed of Spindale. She also has four nieces, Robyn Buckingham of Clinton, SC, Keeley Grigg of Landrum, SC, Haley Smith of Forest City and Lindsey Reed of Spindale.

Funeral services were conducted at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Reverend Bob Philbeck officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
