Sylvester David Riggio, age 95

Sylvester David Riggio, age 95 of Forest City passed away Friday, October 17, 2014.  

He was born May 17, 1919 in Pequa, Ohio and was a son of the late Vincent and Mary Ethel Shanks Riggio.  He had worked for Cabell Chemical Company in Huntington, West Virginia and later retired from Contour Saw Company in Des Plaines, Illinois.  He served in the United States Army during World War II and was preceded in death by a son, Alfred J. Riggio.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Shirley Moore Riggio, a son, Lester C. Riggio, daughters, Mary Ann Harvey and Christa Ellen Riggio as well as his twelve grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church with Reverend Ron Setzer officiating.  Interment followed in the church cemetery with military honors accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
