The Symphony of Rutherford County will be performing their spring concert at the Gathering Place, a relatively new outdoor venue, in Chimney Rock Village on Saturday, May 16, as the grand finale of this year's season kick-off SpringGo event. This very special evening program begins at 5pm with a grilled picnic dinner till 7pm and an auction of handmade garden art created out of recycled materials before the Symphony takes the stage with Chimney Rock Mountain as the backdrop at 6:30pm. It's a rare opportunity to see the symphony perform outdoors. Don your finery and bring your tablecloth for this outstanding performance. A donation of $6 is suggested for the Symphony.

SpringGo is the brainchild of the Chimney Rock Village Community Development Association (CDA), the non-profit promotional and support organization for Chimney Rock Village. With the symphony taking part in this year's 4th annual event, it's becoming a lot more sophisticated!

Daytime activities begin with a Pancake Breakfast from 7:30-10am at the Chimney Rock Volunteer Fire Department. You'll be able to fill up on pancakes, bacon or sausage and all the coffee, tea or juice that you can drink for only $6.

Cows will be brought into the marked off grid in the lot below the Firehouse around 9am to begin the popular Cow Pie Bingo Raffle. Guests will be able to watch Mini May and Snickerdoodles and their two young calves graze the grid of 100 numbered squares till around 2pm. The square containing the biggest volume of cow pie will determine the winner of half the money collected from raffle ticket sales. You don't have to be present to win, but it sure is fun to watch and see where the cows leave their deposits! Only one hundred tickets are available at $25 per square and can be purchased from designated merchants in Chimney Rock Village.
