The boys are back in town, and this season promises a return to days of baseball past.

The 2015 Forest City Owls team had its first crack at the bat Tuesday night against Columbia Blowfish. Tomorrow night the team will take the field at home against the Florence Redwolves beginning at 7:05 p.m.

Starting the game at 7:05 again is just one of the fan favorites returning for this season, said Kiva Fuller, director of operations for the Owls.

"This year is our 'bring back campaign,'" Fuller explained. "We're excited to be able to bring back some of the things that were taken away from our Owls family in the past years."

Those include general admission seating in the grandstand and reduced general admission pricing for children, college students with IDs and seniors. Also coming back to the park is $1 Mondays, which is sponsored by Hometrust Bank.

"We recognize that families need to have family-friendly and affordable entertainment options," Fuller said. "So we've made Mondays all about families. There will be $1 French fries and $1.50 pizza ... so for under $20, a family of four can come out and see a game and have dinner."

Wednesday nights will also offer an opportunity for inexpensive entertainment with a $5 Meal Deal, which Fuller said will include a hamburger or hot dog, French fries, can soda and a dessert.

The Owls will be involved with community giving as well, Fuller explained.

"We are again hosting the Pink Out event, which is sponsored by Rutherford Regional Health System," she said. That event is scheduled for July 18.

A Salute to Troops will be on June 27, and a faith night with Christian musicians on June 19.

And then there's a game for free for all, Fuller added.

"Our Community Give Back is set for July 29," she said. "We have several partners in the community who sponsor this night for the community. There is free admission, and the first 1,000 people through the gates get free hot dog, chips and soda."

Three fireworks nights are planned - this Friday, sponsored by Staffmasters; July 3, sponsored by the Rutherford County Chamber; and July 31, sponsored by Rutherford Regional Health System.

"We're really excited about this summer," Fuller said. "Folks can expect more fun nights, and I look forward to seeing as many folks at the games as they can attend."
