Tammy Lynn Newman, age 44

Tammy Lynn Newman, age 44, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2014.

A celebration of love; Tammy Lynn Newman, Mother to Matthew Leatherwood, daughter Mia Leatherwood, Jessica Leatherwood, son Clint Gibson and Daughter Kaelee Leatherwood-Newman.  A wonderful daughter and sister, she had a complex and demanding life that she met like no other I have ever known.  I met her just in January 2013 and soon married her on July 5, 2013 at 5:55.  To explain such a short courtship for a 45 year old man never married and no children, you need only to look to Tammy and the unconditional love she held in her heart for not just myself, but all others as well.  I transplanted here to western NC from Cape Cod Massachusetts to care for my father who soon was widowed himself just two short years after moving here in 2005.  Tammy and I met and can tell you as witness that it was only a very very short time my heart was absolutely hers.  As a career bachelor I must say I was impressed and extremely happy that we made the decisions we made.  Both of us spent every second we could leaving love notes and constantly reassuring each other how much we appreciated us together and how much we loved each other.  She was so happy that July evening we married.  I had spent a few hours mowing an acre heart in the tall grass in our front yard.  With just a few close friends and family there, we made it official and never saw my wife smile so much and beaming with that happiness only an angel can show.  I spent all my time making sure that she knew she was loved and I cared for her every day.  To lose her so suddenly and unexpectedly in such happiness you may feel the sorrow.  I say this, that I wouldn’t trade one second I had knowing and loving Tammy for all the sorrow in the world I am experiencing for her now.  To the love of my life, mother and daughter.  

Tammy Lynn Newman you will be missed and you are mine and I am truly forever yours.  This world is not our own and I will see you in my dreams until we are reunited again.  I love you.  Your husband Michael Newman
