Ted Rudisell Frye, age 85

Ted Rudisell Frye, age 85, of Rutherfordton, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018.

A native of Gaston County he was a son of the late Marvin Frye and Ethel Bumgardner Frye; a firefighter with Charlotte Fire Department retiring after 32 years of service, a veteran, having served in the US Army during the Korean War, and attended the Adaville Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, Darius Frye and a sister, Jean King.

Survivors include his wife Selma J. Kilpatrick, two sons, Barton Frye of Concord, NC, Eric Frye and his wife Lisa of Southport, NC, a daughter, Susan Smith of Rutherfordton, five grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Adaville Baptist Church. Rev Jonathan Cobb and Rev Dr. Jim Whitlow officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
