Thomas Francis Dunphy, age 88

Thomas Francis Dunphy, age 88, of Lake Lure, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018.

He was a native of Providence, RI and the son of the late John Joseph Dunphy and the late Mary Josephine (McCaffrey) Dunphy. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Forest City, and a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War serving from 1951-1954.

Thomas started his career as a lithographer in 1954 and remained in the printing business for over forty-eight years. He was a devout catholic and supported the church in various activities. He was an avid football fan of the University of Notre Dame and the New England Patriots and a baseball fan of the Boston Red Sox. He loved to build model airplanes. Thomas was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-seven years Frances Elizabeth Dunphy. He also had two brothers; James "Jim" Henry Dunphy and John Edward "Sonny" Dunphy, two sisters; Hazel Mary (Dunphy)

Dennehy and Virginia "Ginny" Kathleen Dunphy.

He is survived by One Daughter: Kathleen F. Grantstein and her husband George of Palm Coast, FL. Three Sons: Thomas P. Dunphy and his wife Caroline of Inman, SC. Stephen J. Dunphy and his wife Carol of Lake Worth, FL. Kevin M. Dunphy and his partner Thomas Cheung of Tung Chung, Hong Kong. One sister: Jane M. Theroux of Palm Coast, FL. Seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren.

A Rosary was held at McMahan's Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass was held at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church. The Rutherford County Honor Guard gave military honors. Interment was held at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Greenville, RI.
