Rutherford Regional Health Foundation will present an annual charity event on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Performing Arts and Conference Center at Isothermal Community College. “Women Together” will feature brunch, entertainment by an award-winning comedienne and a fashion show.

“Each year, we strive to offer a unique event for the enjoyment of women – to benefit women,” said Jill Miracle, executive director of Rutherford Regional Health Foundation. “Women Together has become one of our key fundraisers of the year. The proceeds from the event will provide mammograms for medically uninsured women and sustain Rutherford Regional’s Cancer Navigator Program. The event will provide a strong start on our Foundation’s goal to raise $100,000 for two major health and wellness projects for 2014.”

“Women Together has a theme of Living, Loving and Laughing,” Miracle continued. “We know that Pam Stone, our featured speaker, will handle the laughing part of the day. She is delightfully funny, and will engage our audience perfectly. Our attendees will love the fashions that will be shown, and the idea that guests might save a life by providing a mammogram or a service to a cancer patient is phenomenal.”

Comedienne Pam Stone lives in the foothills of South Carolina, just a few minutes away. She left her native Georgia during her college years to pursue a comedy career in Los Angeles. She played women’s basketball coach Judy Watkins opposite Craig T. Nelson in the ABC hit series Coach. She was nominated for five years in a row as Best Female Stand-Up Comic and received two of radio’s “Gracie Awards” for Best Comedy Entertainment Program. Pam will entertain the group as the meal is completed.

A female-friendly brunch will be served by volunteers and Men for Mammos, a group of physicians and medical professionals, will provide their own brand of entertainment during the meal.

Following Pam Stone’s presentation, Women Together will spotlight a spring wardrobe makeover from CAbi Fashions. CAbi is a moderately priced design line for women of all ages and all sizes. Local women will model the clothing and a consultant will demonstrate how to mix pieces together to complete a spring ensemble. Rutherford Regional Health Foundation chose to include CAbi because of their company’s creed, “affecting lives through relationships.” The company’s Heart of CAbi Foundation provides financial support for women, impacting women in need across the world and their company’s goal is to provide careers for women who desire to put first things first. A portion of their sales following the show will be donated for local cancer patients.

Single reservations are $36 or reserved tables for eight guests who wish to be seated together are $288, or the price of one mammogram. Reservations include brunch and chances for door prizes.

Advance reservations and secure payment can be made at www.MyRutherfordRegional.com/Foundation and choosing the event registration option. Reservations required by February 15. Limited number of seats available for the event and early registration is suggested.

Partial sponsorship of Women Together was provided by Rutherford Internal Medicine Associates, Smith’s Drugs of Forest City and The Daily Courier.
