Vatrice Harris Jackson, age 93

Vatrice Harris Jackson, age 93, of Rutherfordton, went to her heavenly home on November 16, 2015.

She was a native of McDowell County, NC and the daughter of the late Joel and Sally Harris. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Everette Jackson Sr., and one grandson who she loved dearly, Three sisters; Ruby Harris Byrd, Minnie Harris Gosnell and Viola Harris Ledford, one brother Wade Scott Harris, and one daughter in law Carolyn Sinclair Jackson.

She always loved her work in the textile industry, but most of all working for the Senior Center. She had many wonderful friends there. She also loved her Latter day Saints church family. Vatrice never met a stranger and was loved by everyone.

She is survived by her three children and their families; One Daughter: Brenda Gail Jackson Dalton and husband James Garland Dalton of Rutherfordton. Two Sons: Roger Dale Jackson, Sr. and wife Liliana of Encino, CA. Charles Everette Jackson, Jr. of Forest City. Nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews

The funeral service was held at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Kendall Oliphant and Rev. John Perry officiating. Interment was held at Southern Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County at P.O. Box 336 Forest City, NC 28043.
