Vera Witter Hodge Bleasdale, 94, of Asheville, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2011. Services were held at Piedmont Baptist Church, Rutherfordton. Internment was held in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Bleasdale was preceded in death by her first husband, John Hodge; her second husband, Donald Bleasdale; her parents, Rev. Ted and Mildred Witter; and her daughter, Carolyn Louise Magee.
She is survived by two sons, Ted Hodge and his wife, Janice, of Louisville, Kentucky and Bill Hodge and his wife Linda, of Black Mountain; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Global Missions through the Co-operative Baptist Fellowship (CBF Offering for Global Missions, PO Box 101699, Atlanta, GA 30392), International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention/designated for the Lottie Moon offering, (IMB, Development Department, PO Bopx 6767, Richmond, VA 23230), or Four Seasons Hospice (Development Office, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731).
