Verlan Tessneer, age 87, of Lake Lure and wife of Arthur Tessneer passed away Monday, April 10, 2017. She was a native of Rutherford County, a retired clerk at Wilson's Store and a member of Bill's Creek Baptist Church.

Verlan was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Rachael Crawford Dalton and her son Don Tessneer.

Left to cherish her memory, in addition to her husband Arthur whom she was married to for 70 years, is her daughter in law Joyce Tessneer and grandson of the Bill's Creek Community along with a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services were held scheduled Bill's Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Kelly Luckadoo officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Thank you to the staff of White Oak Manor and Hospice of Rutherford County for the care given to Verlan during her illness. A special thank you goes to Lisa Logan for going above and beyond her duties. You are like family to us.
