Wallace A. “Curlie” Daigneau, Jr., age 74, of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012.

      Wallace was born May 15, 1938 in Franklin, New Hampshire to the late Wallace Andrew Daigneau, Sr. and Marie Twambly Daigneau. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Elks where he served as an Exalted Ruler.  He worked as a truck driver and trucking supervisor for Watts Regulator for many years.  He loved woodworking and was an innovator when it came to repairing or building almost anything.  He also enjoyed restoring old cars and antique furniture.  He was a man with a giving heart and used his skills to bless many. He volunteered his time at the Yokefellow Workshop.  He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and a friend to many.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, James A. Daigneau and one sister, Helen Paquette.

Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Alberta L. Daigneau; one daughter, Patricia Alexander and husband, Johnny of Harris; one son, Wallace A. Daigneau IV and wife, Leslie of Moultonborough, NH; one sister, Janice Matthewson of Dover, NH; four granddaughters, Allison Walsh, Sheena Alexander, Desiree Howell, LeAnne Daigneau; two grandsons, James Daigneau and Derek Daigneau and three great granddaughters, Mally Greene, Emily Stamper, Ava-Claire Howell.  He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Marion Grout and Virginia Cantara both of New Hampshire; one brother-in-law, Anson E. Libby and several nieces and nephews.

A private ceremony will be held at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Rutherford County EMS, 339 Callahan-Koone Road, Forest City, NC 28043.
