Wanda Mae England Tate, age 71

Wanda Mae England Tate, age 71, of Forest City passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2013. 

Wanda was a native of Rutherford County and a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, she was a former member of Corinth Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School Teacher. 

Wanda was an avid NASCAR and Atlanta Braves fan. Children held a special place in Wanda’s heart as shown by the care she gave to the many children she provided daycare for.  

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Tate; parents William Claude and Birdie Dalton England; brother Butch England and sisters Louise Ramsey and Dianne Beam. 

Left to cherish her memory are her children Jeff Ferguson of Shelby; Tonya Whittle and her husband Jimmy of Forest City, Raina Crowder and her husband Tim of Forest City; grandchildren Brandon & Brittney Waters of Forest City, Hailey Crowder of Greenville, NC and Hannah Crowder of Forest City; brothers Bobby England and his wife Carolyn of Ellenboro, Larry England and his wife Inez of Virginia; sisters Jenell Blanton of Shelby, Joyce Lovelace of Lexington, SC, sister in law Gladys England, brother in law Mike Beam, and special friend Ernestine Poteat. 

Funeral services were held at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev Bob Philbeck and Rev Ad Hopper officiating. Burial followed in Eternal Hills Memorial Park. 

A special thanks to Hospice of Rutherford County and Henderson Care for the love and compassionate care given to Wanda and our family during this time. Memorial contributions may be made to these organizations.
