William "Bill" Dobbins, age 90

William "Bill" Dobbins, age 90, of Rutherfordton, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016.

He was a Native of Union Mills in Rutherford County. Bill was the son of the late Addie Dobbins and the late Esther Buchannan Dobbins. Bill was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII and took part in the U.S. invasion of Normandy, France during WWII.

He is survived by his wife: Joyce Baynard Dobbins. Three Sons: Charles Dobbins, Shelley Dobbins and Jimmy Shehan. One sister: Doris Glance. Two brothers: Jimmy Dobbins and Frank Dobbins. Six granddaughters, two grandsons, six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Chris Kennedy officiating. Interment was held at Round Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors given by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
