William “Bill” McEowen, age 74

William “Bill” McEowen, age 74, of Forest City, NC and Venice, Florida, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015.

     Born July 25, 1940 in Dayton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Roy W. McEowen and Elsie Lape McEowen. Bill was a crop and cattle farmer for many years in Greenville, Ohio and owned and operated Banco Welding in Sarasota, Florida. He also worked as a plant manager for Jones Chemicals in Mobile, Alabama for several years. He attended the Evangelical United Methodist Church of Greenville, OH. Bill enjoyed watching sports and was dedicated to his work.

     Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-two years, Jane McEowen; son, Steven McEowen of Mason, Texas; daughter, Jennifer Motes and husband, James of Venice, Florida. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Kennedy and Madison Motes.

     A memorial service was conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Trent Keeton officiating.  

     Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043 or to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.

Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
