William Glenn "Bill' Blanton, age 70

William Glenn "Bill' Blanton, age 70 of Ellenboro, passed away Friday, October 21, 2016.

Bill was born on September 15, 1946 in Caroleen, a son of the late William Paul Blanton and Gladys Pace Blanton. He was a retired electrician and IT Specialist for Celanese Fibers, a Baptist and served at the rank of Sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Bill also was an avid gun and firearms enthusiast. His wife, Mary Cecilia Blanton and his sister, Linda Womack preceded him in death.

Survivors include two sons, William Jeffrey (Jeff) Blanton and wife Karen of Bessemer City, Michael Blanton and wife Tiffany of Lincolnton, as well as his five grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren.

A time of remembrance and visitation was held at The Padgett and King Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request that memorials be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, Post Office Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
