William Kent "Bill" Bair, age 74

William Kent "Bill" Bair, age 74, of Lake lure, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017.

He was born February 24, 1942 in Beckley, WV, and was the son of the late James Woodrow and Alice Elizabeth (Mayhew) Bair. Bill was a 22 year Air Force veteran retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1986. He then worked as a Defense Contractor for Systems Research and Applications Corporation headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia until he retired to NC. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert in 2013.

Survivors include his wife, Britt Lillemor Gunilla Bair, a Swedish American, two daughters, Heidi Beth Collins of Wesley Chapel, FL and Heather Lynn Bair of Asheville, two stepdaughters Lillemor Johansson and Malin Josephine Johansson in Sweden, a brother, James Adolph of Fairborn, OH, and one grandson.

Funeral services were held in the Adaville Baptist Church with the Reverend Jonathan Cobb and Reverend Dr. Jim Whitlow officiating. Interment was held at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Black Mountain, NC.
