William Terry McArthur passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side August 16, 2016.

A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late William H. McArthur and Willette Owens McArthur, he grew up in Forest City, graduated East Rutherford High 1966, attended Gardner Webb University, served as a signalman in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Montrail, attended Isothermal CC, and Graduated UNCC with a B.A. in Business. Terry worked for TAR & Assoc., Ambassador Cards (a division of Hallmark) winning several awards as top salesman. Worked for R.J Young Nashville, TN and for the last 20+ years has been a salesman for Kaeser and Blair selling specialty advertising achieving Platinum selling status.

He is survived by two daughters, Lauren Elizabeth McDonald (Mike) of Albany,GA, Mary Brooke Eggers, of Franklin, TN, four grandchildren, a sister, Elaine M. Hill (Braxton) of Virginia Beach, VA, brothers, Marion Audrey McArthur, of Asheville, NC, and Sherman Teal McArthur (Cindy) of Rutherfordton, NC. There are many loved nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Jerry Jones for his faithful service and friendship to Terry. They would also like to thank Dr. Mercer and the amazing staff at Hospice House of Rutherford County for all the wonderful medical care, special friendships and the kindness shown to him each and every day.

There are no formal services being held. To honor Terry's wishes, he will be cremated and a private burial at sea is to follow in the coming months. Memorials may be made in his honor to Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.

The Padgett and King Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
