Willis "Slim" Shew, age 76

Willis "Slim" Shew, age 76, of Ellenboro, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2016.

Born Thursday, December 28, 1939 in Rutherford County, he was a son to the late Lester Shew and Francis Greene Shew. He worked for Hoechst Celanese-Spartanburg Plant for over thirty years before retirement. Willis was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed gardening and was known for his ability as a story teller.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Doug Shew.

Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-five years, Martha H. Shew; daughter, Renee S. Morris and life companion, Tracy White of Forest City; son, Michael Shew of Ellenboro and special friend, Brandi Saine; one sister, Becky Quinn of Forest City; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews which include a special nephew, Ronald Henson.

A memorial service was conducted at Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Wayne Powell officiating.
