Winfred Hoyle Owens, age 87

Winfred Hoyle Owens, age 87, of Rutherfordton, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2019.

He was the son of the late Reverend Robert Hoyle Owens and the late Eva Pittman Owens. Winfred was a native of Rutherford County and a member of West Memorial Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and he was also the chairman of Deacons. He served in the Navy for four years in Texas.

In addition to his parents, Winfred was preceded in death by all three of his sisters: Betty Wiles, Bobbie Freeman and Peggy Joyce Owens. He is survived by his wife of 63 years: Joyce White Owens. One Daughter: Lisa Ann Owens. One Son: Steve Hoyle Owens and his wife Gina. Three Grandchildren and One Great-Grandchild.

The funeral service was held at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was held at Eternal Hills Memorial Park following the service with Military Honors provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
