Zeb Conner, age 82

Zeb Conner, age 82, of Mooresboro, passed away Friday, November 9, 2018.

Zeb was born April 25, 1936 in Rutherford County and was the son of the late James Washington Conner and Lula Lee Hawkins Conner. He worked in textiles for thirty years and owned and operated Conner's Automotive Garage in Caroleen for several years. Zeb also worked as a heavy equipment operator in construction. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church of Ellenboro and enjoyed woodworking. Zeb was widely known for his talent in playing the steel guitar.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Thelma Conner; two sisters, Ruby Boston and Ocie Conner; three brothers, Jim Conner, Fred Conner and Oren Campbell.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of twenty-five years, Patsy Greene Conner; two daughters, Donna Cantrell of Mooresboro and Kimberly Henson and husband, Johnny of Mooresboro; two sons, Roger Conner and wife, Ruth of Forest City and Jimmy Conner and wife, Patty of Caroleen. He is also survived by a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was conducted at Victory Baptist Church. Memorial donations are requested to Victory Baptist Church, 531 Soco Gap Road, Ellenboro, NC 28040 or to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
