Zeb V. Jolly, age 85

Zeb V. Jolly, age 85 of Forest City passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014. 

He was born February 6, 1929 in Rutherford County & was a son of the late Barney Andrew and Carrie Newman Jolly. Zeb was a retired superintendent for Anchor Construction Company & longtime member of Long Branch Road Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Harris High School & served 2 years in the US Army & served for 30 years in the Army National Guard of NC where he attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys Padgett Jolly in 2005 as well as his brothers, Barney Jolly & Leroy Jolly. Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Jolly of the home, a son, Roger Jolly & wife Sherry of Lake Lure, a daughter, Karen Webb & husband Mike of Forest City, a sister, Annie Davis of Taylors, SC, four grandchildren, Mark Bailey, Laura Melton, Jennifer Huskey, and Chris Jolly,  great-grandchildren, Kinsley, Karsyn, & Konner Huskey,  Lucas  & Serinity Jolly & Helena & Meridith Bailey.

Funeral services were held at Long Branch Road Baptist Church with Reverend Jerry Ruppe & Reverend Don Crawford officiating. Interment followed in the Eternal Hills Memorial Park with Military Honors accorded by the NC National Guard Honor Guard. Memorials may be made Long Branch Road Baptist Church, 621 Long Branch Rd, Forest City, NC 28043.
