James "Jimmy" "Big Moe" Hewitt, age 75

James "Jimmy" "Big Moe" Hewitt, age 75, of Henrietta, passed away Friday, July 9, 2015.

A native of Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Robert Ransom Hewitt and Bernice Virginia Chapman Hewitt. He retired from Cone Mills Corporation and was a member of First Baptist Church of Henrietta. Jimmy was married to the love of his life, Carolyn Fox Hewitt, for 57 years and also dearly loved all of his family and his dog, Baby. His life revolved around his grandchildren, Lucas and Maddie. He also loved gardening and camping.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Fox Hewitt of the home; a son, Robbie Hewitt and wife Pamela of Mooresboro; brothers, Lamar Hewitt and wife Linda of Bostic, and Mickey Hewitt and wife Peggy of Forest City; grandchildren, Lucas Hewitt and Maddie Hewitt; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service was held at First Baptist Church of Henrietta. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Relay for Life, 120 Executive Park #120, Asheville, NC 28801 with designation to Rutherford County or Hospice of Rutherford County, P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
