Earl Jefferson McCurry, 94, of Forest City, died October 26, 2021.

A native of Rutherford County, he was a son of the late CJ McCurry and Ethel Simmons McCurry and widower of the late Nelle Watson McCurry. Earl worked 42 years for Stonecutter Mills. After retirement he worked as a driver for Watkins Automobiles and other car dealers. Earl was a member of First Baptist Church, Forest City where he was a church greeter for many years, and was a U S Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include son, Mark McCurry and wife Beverly of Forest City, daughter, Connie McCurry Champion of Forest City, granddaughters, Amy Bland and husband Clint of Ellenboro, and Emily Sain and husband John of Forest City, and six great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Gene and Ray McCurry and son-in-law, Max Champion.

Funeral services were held October 29 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Garin Hill officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 211 W. Main St., Forest City, NC 28043 or Florence Baptist Church Bldg. Fund, 201 S. Broadway St, Forest City, NC 28043.
