21st Annual Hot Nights Cool Rides... Great Weather! Great Show! 370 Cars!

It started 21 years ago and is now called one of, if not, the best car shows in the Southeast. “Hot Nights & Cool Rides” continues to be a display of vintage automotive Americana! American vehicle creativity, ingenuity and design are presented and displayed at this annual mega-event! The serious, the curious and the hobby enthusiasts all come out to take their time to see what each year brings. They are always over awed by the magnificent display of engineering which has become an American trademark. It is definitely one of the best free shows around.

This year there were 370 registered vehicles. Kelly Dale, President of the Forest City Merchants Association said:  In my four years as President of the Association this year, to me, is the absolute best! Everything was perfect  the weather, the participants, and the crowd. I’m also very pleased that it helped the economy of Forest City. All the profits from this go to sponsoring all future events in our town. It is a magnificent win-win situation for each of us.”

The year also featured more family fun attractions. KidzPlay sponsored a Kiddie Playground which the youngsters really enjoyed. A greater variety of food was offered by this year vendors which gave all visitors a wider selection. The local food eateries were open and enjoyed the increase in sales. The best thing about “Hot Nights & Cool Rides” 2012 was the total upbeat atmosphere. Throughout the entire day it was  “feel good” times for all.

The Forest City Merchants Association and all participants and volunteers involved are to be commended for the great reception they gave to vehicle owners and our guests. Your collective efforts continue to make this annual event not only grow, but presents a positive impression to all who are fortunate enough to participate and attend.
