   For 39 years one of the best and biggest family fun days is the annual “let’s get together” on the top of the hill in Rutherfordton. Our county seat is the host for an annual event that is all about family first. Every year it gets better and better. This year two major bands have been booked. Also, for the kids - wow - pony rides have been added.

   The event will officially open with Gears and Gables Ride that will benefit Rutherford Housing Partnership. The Boy Scouts will host the very popular Scout Show & Pinewood Derby Race. There will also be over 100 arts and crafts people not only from North Carolina, but also three other states - South Carolina, Virginia and Georgia. All this plus great Mayfest food.

   Live entertainment this year starts at 11 a.m. with Evergreen with Big Daddy Love following up at 3 p.m.  The Chase Jazz Band will also perform. Of course, there will be the favorite inflatables, rock climbing and more kids activities. You won’t want to miss the truck and motorcycle show.

   Street shows with The Dancin’ Stars, IGA Gymnastics and TJCDA Keith’s Dancers. Martial Arts Displays and more. The list is endless and just goes on and on.

   There is definitely something going on all the time. It’s and endless display of participation, entertainment and limitless fun.

   Here is the best part...admission is free! So set your sights and mark your calendars for this years Rutherford County “Show of Shows! Saturday, May 7th is the date. Sit out on the lawn and enjoy the music and plan on spending the biggest family entertainment of the year.
