Davis Poplin celebrated his 94th birthday September 18 with his daughters, Kathy Oleksa of Raleigh, Sheila Dotson of Murphy and Patti Brown of Forest City. His daughters joined him on the porch and in the parking lot at Brookdale in Forest City while several people shared birthday greetings from their vehicles. Among those with a cheerful greeting was Buster Brown, the pet belonging to Patti and Larry Brown. Davis enjoyed a birthday cake, balloons, gifts and more than 70 birthday cards sent to him at Brookdale.
