Alton Kenneth Henson, age 85

Alton Kenneth Henson, age 85 of Mooresboro, NC, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, February 4, 2023.

He was born December 5, 1937 in Rutherford County, to the late Obe Henson and the late Dezzie Hines Henson. Alton was a US Army veteran serving his country proudly. He was a member of Goodes Creek Baptist Church. Alton was widowed by his wife Mary Willie Jolley Henson and having no children of their own they called their special niece Kim Wilson their daughter.

Survivors include his brother Broughton Henson and wife Mary Lou, sister Helen "Bobbie" Harris and numerous special nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Alton was preceded in death by brothers; Furman "Bo" Henson, Whitey Henson and Jack Henson, sisters; Jean Wilson and Frances Silver.

In lieu of flowers make donations to Goodes Creek Baptist Church at PO Box 720 Cliffside, NC 28024.

The family will conduct their own private memorial service at a later date with Rev. Dale Welch will officiating.
