Alvin "Wayne" Ruppe passed away at the age of 84

Alvin "Wayne" Ruppe passed away at the age of 84, on Tuesday, July 11, 2023.

Born June 28, 1939 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Furman Ruppe and Emma Lou Blackwell.

Wayne began his career at Stonecutter Mills. He then followed his life passion of golf and was the long time Golf Pro at Meadowbrook Golf Course. He took a second career later in life as a Security Guard at Torrington Fafnir, later to become Timken.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Cythenia Ruppe. Daughters Sherry Melton and husband Lynn of Rutherfordton, and Bonita Gutierrez and husband Tony of Arlington, WA, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, his sisters June Burnette, Trisha Ruppe and Cathy Tomblin.

The funeral was held July 14 at West Point Baptist Church with Rev. Lance Scarlett and Rev. Ad Hopper officiating.
