Amelia Blanton Higgins, age 73, of Forest City, NC, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2012 .
Amelia was born on December 4, 1938 in Rutherford County to the late A.J. Blanton and Mildred Belle McDaniel Blanton. She worked for Folks Cleaners for several years before her retirement and was a member of Providence United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Forrest Higgins; one sister, Joyce Fite and husband, Gene; two nieces, Pamela Cochran and husband, David and Patty Abercrombie and husband, Charles all of Forest City.
She is also survived by two great-nephews, Christopher Abercrombie and Mark Abercrombie both of Forest City.
Funeral services were conducted at Providence United Methodist Church.
