Rutherford Housing Partnership (RHP) will host a group of young people from AmeriCorps NCCC in January for six weeks. The group will help staff and other volunteers to do roofing projects and make other urgent housing repairs.

AmeriCorps will be housed in Spindale in a home under renovation by RHP staff and volunteers.

"We currently have a home for them to live in but we desperately need furnishings and household goods," said Mel Ailiff, RHP's executive director.

There is a need for donations of bunk beds (no mattresses), dining table and chairs; cookware (pots and pans, bakeware); silverware, plates, cups, bowls, etc.

Other household goods are also needed as AmeriCorps will be in Spindale for six weeks.

Please call the office at 828-248-3431 for more information on donations. Leave a message if there is no answer.

AmeriCorps is a full-time service program that encourages young adults to make a difference in the United States through acts of service.
