Another Crazy Ending At Martinsville, Means Bad Luck Triggers DNQ
When we left off last week, Forest City resident, Jimmy Means took his Hamilton-Means Racing Toyota to Martinsville this past weekend. Turns out an unlucky break forced them to not qualify for the Goody’s 500.

Scott Speed, who was driving the machine posted the 22nd fastest lap in final practice, but came up a quarter of a second short on the stop watch to make the event during qualifying.

Listen To Life
Do you have a blueprint?

Let’s say that you and I decide to build a doghouse. I mean, how hard can that be, right?

So you go to the local home improvement store and buy some wood, only you’re not sure what to get so you just pick up a few of these and some of that and a couple of nails—you’re not sure which size to get—and bring it back home.  You and I stand there looking at the wood, looking at each other, wondering, “How in the world do you build a doghouse?”  What you and I need is a plan, a blueprint for building a better doghouse.

Outdoor Truths

Outdoor Truths
It was the funniest sight the other day. At daybreak a tom strolled down the path to a small field just in front of me. There he strutted and gobbled and listened for any hen that might be close and interested in watching him flex his muscles as if he were in a posedown at an Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic. He paraded in one direction and then the other as if he were practicing in front of a mirror in anticipation for the real thing.

It was not too long until some movement to my left caught my eye. It was 5 young jakes who had heard his call and decided to team up and try to run him off. That’s what they do. The younger males are not fit enough to take on a full grown gobbler by themselves so they form a gang and team up to push him away from any hen that might be around. The problem however, was there were no hens in sight………… yet.
