Three of the four schools in Rutherford County lost on the football field this past week. Thomas Jefferson was the lone winner of the weekend as they beat Asheville School 44-13.

Brightly colored orange and creamy, pale white pumpkins adorn the yard of Brad and Jaimee Peters Lake Lure yard. It's a sight those in the community are excited to see again.

While fall begins Sept. 23, it's not officially fall in Rutherford County until the Hilltop Fall Festival in Rutherfordton. This year the festival will be held Saturday, Oct. 3.

Myrtle Mae Owenby age 94 of the Rock Springs Community passed away Friday, September 18, 2015.

Pansy Higgins, age 103, of Bostic passed away Saturday, September 12, 2015.

Robert Mills Watkins, age 91 of Forest City passed away Sunday, September 13, 2015.

Ronald Elwin Pollock Jr. age 57, of Forest City, NC passed away on September the 15th 2015.
