Argio Paulo Alberghini, 96, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2012.

    He was preceded in death by his wife Elfrieda Alberghini of the home, brother Paul Albergine, and sister Lena Bowman. He is survived by his brother Peter Alberghine of Franklin, NC, sister Eleanor Atwood, of Delmar, NY, and his five children, Elliana Norris (Kenny) of Crystal River, FL; Nilda Padgett of Columbia, SC; Mark Alberghini (Carla) of Stanfield, NC; Lisa Alberghini of Greer, SC; and Craig Alberghini (Connie) of Arden, NC. Also survived by grandchildren Maria Smith (John); Kelly Zimmerman (Mary); Matthew and Dylan Padgett; Hollyn and Haley Alberghini; Jamey Smith; Erin Henderson (Shedrick); Tyler, Nash and Bryce Alberghini; and great grandchildren Brendan, Logan and Devan Elliott; Ryan, Kyle, Drew and Noah Zimmerman.

Mr.     Alberghini was a native of upstate New York, served 26 years in the US Army Band (trombonist). He worked for the US Post Office for 23 years as a letter carrier in Forest City, NC.

    He was a volunteer for Hospice for 17 years. A member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
 Funeral
Service was held Wednesday, January 25 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

    In lieu of flowers contributions may be given to Rutherford County Hospice, POB 336, Forest City, NC 28043.

    The family wishes to extend special thanks for all their loving care to the hospice staff and volunteers.
