Barbara D. Bridges, age 82

Barbara D. Bridges, age 82 of Forest City died Thursday, September 1, 2022.

Barbara was born April 23, 1940, in Cleveland County and was a daughter of the late LeRoy and Ruth Sweezy Drewery. She worked in textiles where she retired. She served alongside her late husband of 59 years, Rev. John R. "Pete" Bridges. She was a member of Wilson Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by brother, Robert Drewery and sister, Betty McSwain.

Survivors include sons, Chris Philbeck and wife Gabby of Shelby, Ricky Philbeck and wife Debra of Shelby, daughter, Kim Upton and husband David of Forest City, brothers, Charles Drewery and Roger Drewery, sisters, Brenda Truelove, Patricia Spangler, and Wanda Causby all of Shelby and one grandson.

The funeral service was held September 3 in The Padgett and King Chapel with the Rev. Steve Smith officiating.
