Barbara Lane Burgess, age 83, of Union Mills passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2026.

Barbara was a native of Rutherford County, daughter of the late Perry Carlyle Lane and Alice Yelton and spent her career in health care having worked as an LPN at Woodlands Nursing Home, and White Oak Nursing Home in Rutherfordton.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Deborah Hoyle Conard (DeWayne).

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Crowe's Mortuary is assisting the Burgess family.
