Bertha Nanney Hill "Bub", age 96, of Spindale, NC died Saturday, August 30, 2025.

She was a native of Rutherford County, a daughter of the late Drury Edgar Nanney and Velma Jaynes Nanney of the Frog Level Community. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joe Edward Hill; one brother, Robert E. Nanney; and five sisters, Lucille N. Parton, Myrtle N. Silvers, Ruby N. Daniel, Clara N. Fagan and Minnie N. Doggett.

"Bub" was a member of Spencer Baptist Church and was retired from BB&T having worked in the Spindale Branch.

She is survived by her only daughter, Robin H. Roberson, her favorite son-in-law David O. Roberson of the Frog Level Community and a host of wonderful nephews and nieces.

A service to celebrate her life was held September 13 at Spencer Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Caldwell officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Spencer Baptist Church 187 N. Oak St., Spindale NC 28160.
