Bertha Sims Flynn, age 92, of Forest City, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2012. 

A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Lee and Iola Spurlin Sims. She was a retired weaver and a member of Southern Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Martha Hunt of Rutherfordton and Kay F. Ellis of Cornelius, NC; sister Margie Frady of Rutherfordton; brother Herman Sims of Rutherfordton; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ransom C. Flynn and her son, Jimmy Flynn.

Funeral services were held at Crowe’s Mortuary with Rev. John Perry and Rev. Jack Hansma officiating. Interment followed in Southern Baptist Church cemetery.
