Betty Gail Taylor, age 84, of Rutherfordton, NC

Betty Gail Taylor, age 84, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Thursday, July 17, 2025.

Betty was the daughter of the late Rev. Paul Stepp and the late Montie Sloan Stepp, and a native of the Sunnyview Community of Polk County. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Betty worked at Rutherford Hospital for over 40 years and was a graduate of the Rutherford Hospital School of Nursing.

She was also preceded in death by a brother James William "Billy" Stepp.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, John B. Taylor Jr., two daughters, Sherri Taylor Chesney (Michael) and Gail Taylor Wilkins (Bill), one sister, Janice Stepp Smith (Dale), two grandchildren, Emily Grace Wilkins and Erin Wilkins Parce, one great grandchild, Rowan Parce.

The funeral service was held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church on July 20 with Rev. James Henson officiating and Brenda Lynch giving the Eulogy.
