Betty Jean Long Allen, age 76, of Kannapolis, NC, passed away Monday, December 12, 2011.
Funeral services were conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel.
Betty was born to the late George Garrett Long and Nell Rose Patrick Long.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Burton Allen; one grandson, Jonathan Shane Allen Thomason; two brothers, James Long, Charles Harvey Long and one sister, Nancy Elizabeth Stallard.
Survivors include four daughters, Kathy Ann Thomason of Forest City, Sherry Teresa Clark of Landrum, SC, Linda Carolyn Allen of Granite Falls, NC and Cindy Michelle Allen of Bessemer City, NC; two sons, Randall Burton Allen of Kannapolis and Richard Garrett Allen and fiancé, April of Salisbury.
She is also survived by three sisters, Patricia Pies and husband, Edward of Shelby, Barbara Thomas and husband, Wiley of Forest City, Judy Edwards of Mooresville, NC; one brother, George Long of Louisiana; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Memorial donations are suggested to the National Kidney Foundation, Finance Department, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016.
