Betty Toney Sandefur, age 80, of Sunshine, NC, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014.

   Born December 20, 1933 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late Greeley H. Toney & Alice Campbell Toney. Betty was a homemaker & a charter member of Ross Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading & taking care of her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister & aunt.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Talley Sandefur; her sister, Merle Dunkle & 5 brothers, Fred, Grady, Earl, Hermon & Frank Toney. 

  Survivors include daughter, Wanda Young of Sunshine; son, Ricky Sandefur and wife, Glenda of Middlesex; brother, Ralph Toney of Sunshine. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Chuck Jackson, Daniel Jackson, Timothy Ormand, Matthew Sandefur & Brittany Pearson; 11 great-grandchildren, Justin Jackson, Megan Jackson, Anthony Jackson, Sierrah Jackson, Mikayla Brooks, Kelsea Jackson, Jasmine Doster, Talley “Crew” Jackson, Hunter Wood, Zoe Sandefur & Elijah Pearson.

   Funeral services were conducted at Ross Hill Baptist Church with Reverend Earl Godfrey officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
