Bill Thomassen, age 60, of Forest City, passed away August 26, 2021.

Bill was born January 23, 1961 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He worked for the City of Shelby. Bill also worked as a funeral assistant for Harrelson Funeral Home for and also as the owner and operator of the Thomassen Family Campground. He was a faithful member of Adaville Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Herman Thomassen and in-laws, Bob and Martha Jean Sellers.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 26 years, Tammy Sellers Thomassen; mother, Delores "Dee" Philbeck (Gene) of Grover; son, Johnathon Horn (Yurona Pillay) of Boston, Massachusetts; brother, James "Jim" Thomassen (Teresa) of Gastonia.

The funeral will be conducted at 1pm September 10, 2021 at Adaville Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Pate and Rev. Jeff Watts officiating. There will be no formal visitation. The body will lie in state from 6-9pm Thursday at the funeral home.
