Billy Gene Radford, age 73

Billy Gene Radford, age 73, of Forest City, NC, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2012.

Billy was born December 28, 1938 in Rutherford County, NC to the late B.J. Radford and Ruby Mace Radford.  As a young man he worked in the saw mill. He then worked for Burlington Industries and Cone Mills for over 42 years.  He was a faithful member of Harriett Memorial Free Will Baptist Church.  Among the many things he enjoyed, was fishing, coon hunting and going to auctions.  He had a loving devotion to his family.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Peggy Lou Radford; four children, Ricky Radford and wife, Tina of Kings Mountain, Brenda Johnson and husband, Terry of Mooresboro, Mary Phillips and husband, Tim of Forest City, David Radford and wife, Ellen of Cliffside; two sisters, Carolyn Bryl and husband, Rudy of Forest City, Minnie Arias and husband, Raymond of Cliffside; two brothers, Boyce Radford and wife, Dot of Forest City, Albert Radford and wife, Suzanne of Fort Mill, SC.  He is also survived by eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and special friend, Devin Carillo of Forest City.

Funeral services were conducted at Harriett Memorial Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Robert Harris officiating.  Interment followed in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.
