Billy Ray Morrison Sr, age 66, of Lake Lure, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013. 

A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Pete Morrison and Gladys Deskin McEntyre, Billy was a repair service owner/operator and a US Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife Judy Hipps Morrison of the home; sons Billy Morrison Jr of Lake Lure, Pete Calloway Morrison of Asheville and Eddie Morrison of Union Mills; sister Dianne Gantt of Shelby; brothers, Larry Morrison of Marion, Dean Morrison of Bostic, and Wayne Morrison of Union Mills; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Dixon.

Funeral services were held at Crowe’s Mortuary with Rev. Wayne Stafford and Don McEntire officiating. Interment followed at Cedar Creek Holiness Church cemetery with military honors accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
