Boyd Brooks, 85, of Rutherfordton, passed away on Thursday, August 4. Services were held at Crowe’s Mortuary. Internment was held in Sandy Run Baptist Church cemetery.
Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his parents, Rex Liston and Verdia Bridges Brooks; his son, Larry Wayne Brooks and his daughter, Lisa Maria Brooks.
He is survived by his wife, Nell Ramsey Brooks of the home; one daughter, Terry Brooks Thornton and husband Bob of Wilmington; one son, Charles Brooks of Rutherfordton and one grandson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC or Spencer Baptist Church, 207 N. Oak St., Spindale, NC 28160.
