Bruce Cole, age 73, of Belmont, formerly of Forest City, passed away September 27, 2021.

Bruce was born January 13, 1948 in Rutherford County to the late Clarence Beecher Cole and Julia Scoggins Cole. He was a graduate of Chase High School. Bruce worked at the Daily Courier and Rutherford Weekly for many years. He was a member of Main Street Baptist Church in Spindale where he served as a deacon. He especially loved spending time with his granddaughter.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 52 years, Phyliss Cole; daughter, Lacey Laws and husband, Tony Jr. of Belmont; brother, Ronald Wayne Cole (Benita) of Winston-Salem; granddaughter, Lydia Laws; stepmother, Jenny Cole of Rutherfordton.

A graveside service was held October 1, 2021 at Eternal Hills Memorial Park with Rev. Rick Wall officiating.

Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family.
