Carolyn Toms Tate, age 85 of Forest City died January 29, 2022.

Carolyn was born January 20, 1937, in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Lester Toms and Lucy Carroll.

She was a graduate of Harris High School and an active member of New Bethel Baptist Church. Carolyn worked as a Commercial Underwriter for the former G. B. Harrill Agency and later Forrest M. Edwards Insurance where she retired.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Tate in 2013 and brothers, Ronald Toms and Michael Toms.

Survivors include daughter, Lisa Tate Apodaca and husband the Honorable Tom Apodaca of Hendersonville, her grandsons, Brandon Apodaca and wife Kristen, and Tate Apodaca both of Hendersonville, her great-grandson, River Apodaca, brothers, Roy Toms, Charles Toms, Virgil Toms, and Larry Toms, and sisters, Betty Huntley, Barbara Allen, Syble Scruggs, Brenda Bentley, Susan Grant, and Sherry Lowery.

The funeral was held February 2, 2022, at New Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Greg Qualls officiating.
